Brian Hyland は43年生まれで、当時なんと弱冠16才！ツイストを踊る彼の何と初々しい事。幼さは残るが、リーゼントのよく似合うトッポい兄ちゃんって感じ。
女だらけの観覧客の拍手は表を打っていて、まるで男の子に「あんよはじょうず」をしているみたい。
セリフのブレイクの直後のユーモラスなカウベルのタイミング(1拍目)と合ってはいる。一方、立ち上がって踊り出すハイランドは裏(2、4拍目)でリズムを取っている。

詞の主人公は年頃の若い姉さんだろうと勝手に思い込んでいたが、作者の実の幼い娘との実体験が元になっているとの由。
するとテレビ番組と思しきこの映像は作者の本来の描写に忠実という事になる。
歌い手の口パクが玉に瑕だが、ボーカルトラック抜きの音源(つまりカラオケ)などは恐らく無かったのだろう。

ビキニを恥しがるのは、幼子だからというのもあろうが、まだビキニという水着が普及していなかった時代背景も影響しているそうな。

名曲だけにカバーも多い。

イツィビツィの原音の保存の為か y を i に変え、また Teenie Weenie を仏語(petit = 小さい)に差し替えて少し改題している。

逐語的な解釈は不要だろうから少し修辞を凝らした箇所を見てみます。

これは2行前との脚韻の為にわざわざ倒置している。

そして同じく

これは2行後との脚韻の為の倒置。
So she sat, bundled up on the shore

更衣室⇒タオル⇒浜辺⇒海、という分かり易い場面転換。
そして遂に女の子は青ざめちゃうっていう、気の毒ながら可愛らしいオチ。
最後に場面転換のおさらいをして、「はいおしまいっ」という、人を食った様な、しかし潔い締め方。
