流布する歌詞は3番とも全て同一だが実際は he,his/she,her がテレコになっている所がある(ただの歌い損じかも知れないが)。
swap meet とはフリーマーケットの様な即売会の事で、作者カートコベインの郷里アバディーンでは大きなイベントの一つだった。

この一行さえなければこの歌は町にやって来る男女の行商の平和な休日を描いただけのものになっていただろうか。
対訳では they を文の主語と見なしているが、これを命令文と見なせば、このカップルへのそれこそ辛辣(bitterness)な吐き捨てという事になりそう。
作者が彼らのしみったれた生活をからかって忍び笑いをしているだけなのか、それとも一片の同情を寄せているのかは知り得ない。
