ビデオの歌詞は You are a child と表示されるが正しくは You were a child だろう。

雨降り、天落つ
あめ(雨)は、あま(天)から派生した言葉だそうな(余談)。

you を無慈悲にも断罪する語り手の正体は God なのだろうか。

作者コーネル(1964-2017)の死という凶事にも some good を見い出せ、或は、災い転じて福となせ、と言っている様にも今となっては聞こえる。

ジョニーキャッシュ(1932-2003)が歌う、同じく死後に発表された伝統民謡 God’s Gonna Cut You Down は神の裁きを警告。

キャッシュの残した詩を基にコーネルが作曲、歌唱。
