スプリングスティーンの Streets of Minneapolis にも歌われたレネーグッドの事件
ICE捜査官ジョナサンロスがグッドに車から降りるよう命じたが、彼女は応じず車を発進させたためロスは3発発砲。これは自衛の為だったというのが米政府/当局側の見解。
民主国家における法執行による治安維持の問題に対し、スプリングスティーンやU2などのミュージシャンは国家権力の制限を支持する側に立っている。
ただ彼ら自身は一般市民に比べ遥かに安全な所で生活しており、私的にコストも掛けているだろうが公的に保たれた秩序の恩恵に浴しているというのも事実。まああとフツーにトランプが嫌い…
致死発砲が必要だったかは当然争点となっているが、そもそも発砲前のグッドを含む反ICE活動家による捜査への妨害行為があった事については余り語られず(日本語版Wikiにも記述なし)。
