近々発表されるアルバム版とこのライブ音源は歌詞が少し異なるらしい。上掲の詞はこのライブの方を聞き取ったもの(流布する歌詞を訂正し、また余計な読点を省いてある)。
U2の様な巨大なロックアイコンがその巨大さゆえ自身を恐竜(= 滅ぶべき長老バンド)に喩える。
ロックの存亡は最早ロックミュージシャンが扱うべき最大のベタなテーマ。
政治にも言及する本作ではそんな悲運をもひっくり返して希望に仕立てようと試みているが、それ自体がこれまた悲哀を帯びている様に見えなくもない。勿論本人達も承知でこんな風に歌い演じている。

この言葉は若い世代のリスナーに向けているのか、それとも同業者に？
back, Jack と言われると Do It Again ってなっちゃう(余談)。
